SLHCC Cricket Force 2009

Saturday 25th April

Stanford's annual cricket force days are fast approaching so get your paintbrushes from the loft and come down to the clubhouse on Saturday 25th April.

The purpose of this day is to try and involve club members and kids/volunteers from the local community to help prepare the club's equipment/facilities so we are ready for the start of the season!!

Some of the job's and activities that we will need to do are as follows:-

  • We need to paint sight screens and repair where required and replace wheels if possible so brushes, rollers, ladders etc are required.
  • we will with luck be putting down the telegraph poles or similar to continue around park with a wood mulch path behind it so shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, hammers and large nails will be needed for this job.
  • We need people to help clear out the container and then lay a couple of sleepers to sit it on in the new position

We will starting at 10.00am so hopefully, this year we can get as many members as possible down to The Rec to help out and get the club in pristine fashion before the season starts. Bacon rolls and tea/coffee will be served to the workers and it will be a good chance to catch up with some members you may not have seen for a while.

Below are some pictures of what has gone on so far (Click on each picture for a bigger view):-

Some of the new trees that have been planted around the edge of the pitch. The work on the security fence gets underway. The completed fence. (The new Nets have now been installed and are ready for the new season!!)
