Phase One

The cricket scoreboard has been constructed and installed.  Master craftsman John Hicks has single-handedly put this together over the past few weeks. He is now awaiting the delivery of the electronics this week by the company ESU.  If all goes to plan. it will be completed in time for the first cricket match on 28th April and will undoubtedly be a huge feature of the new facilities. The bar has been installed in the Clubhouse.  This was a big moment for the User Group as it will be a major internal feature of the new facilities. Work will now proceed in kitting out the bar ahead of the unofficial opening at 7.30pm on Friday 27th April.

Phase Three
The tennis courts are finished!

On Friday and Saturday the tennis courts were colour sprayed by the company
JP Read from Ongar.

They look absolutely magnificent due to the fine work done by ETC Sports
Surfaces and JP Read.

The courts will now be left to harden for a few weeks.  They will then be
prepared for first use at the official opening ceremony on 20th May.

Please be patient whilst everything is put in place for the organisation of
the courts.  Please also be aware of any possible vandalism to the courts.
They have cost a great deal of money to refurbish and the SRGUG wants to
preserve the investment made by the Cory Trust.  The courts will accordingly
be kept looked whilst not in use.  Access to the courts will only be
possible via booking though the SRGUG Clubhouse.  More details to follow.
