Week 16 *** SLHCC 1st XI secure a 27 run win over Basildon with Captain Lee Knight hitting 49 not out *** 6-37 from Captain Andy Powley helps the 2nd XI win a dramatic 8 run win over Old Parkonians *** The 3rd XI lose by 8 wickets to Walthamstow 5th XI *** Due to Billericay 5th XI being unable to raise a side, the 4th XI picked up the maximum 20 points for a win *** Week 17 *** Despite 38 from Ross Poulton and 4-35 from Neil Samwell, the 1st XI suffer a 3 wicket defeat to Wickford *** Half centurys from Kevin Smith (57*) and James Drain (56) were not enough for the 2nd XI as the rain caused the match against Belhus 2's to be drawn *** The 3rd XI draw with Basildon 4th XI at the rec with Rob Pearn hitting 32 and Andy Freeman taking 3-47 *** The 4th XI (only had 9 players) suffer a big defeat to Harold Wood 5th's despite Adrian Page's 4-57 ***

20th May 2007 – Official Opening Ceremony

Afternoon events

The afternoon saw the formal events take place with speeches from Mark Nuttall SRGUG) and Grahame Thomas (Cory Trust).  Following this, Danny Crates (Paralympic 800m Gold medalist from SLH) unveiled the commemorative plaque as he officially opened the Clubhouse.  John Green then hoisted the new SRGUG flag for the first time.  There followed a buffet and drinks for all the invited guests.

Late evening tennis

The evening saw members let their hair down as they relaxed and celebrated the official opening.  It was an evening of fine entertainment provided by two top bands to which members danced the night away.
